Childminding Practice Level 3

This is available at different levels and is aimed at prospective childminders, and is an excellent introduction to this area of childcare.

The level 3 course will cover nine different aspects of childminding from keeping children safe through to starting a childminding business.

Minimum entry age 18. Although no formal qualification or previous experience is required, candidates should be willing to take an active part in the sessions.

Candidates should also have a reasonable level of literacy, required to complete two written assignments. You will be required to write about all nine aspects of childminding practice, and go into detail about one area of your choice. This will be set at the end of the course.

On successful completion of the course, you will receive the CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Childminding Practice Unit 1-Introducing Childminding Practice, a nationally recognised qualification. This is an ideal starting point for people wanting to become registered childminders.

The Course Aims to:-

  • Meet the basic training needs of prospective childminders
  • Provide a framework for candidates to gain the knowledge required to become childminders
  • Give candidates the opportunity to prove their competence through a childminding assignment
  • Promote good practice, positive attitudes and responses to different cultures, gender and abilities
  • Give candidates a foundation on which to develop their employment prospects by their achievement of a recognised qualification
