About the qualification
These awards are aimed at people who work with children and young people aged 0 to 16. They are relevant to you if you work in day care, crèches, preschools and schools, hospitals, primary care and community based services such as SureStart programmes. They are also relevant to people working as childminders. The level 2 is suitable for you if you work as a nursery assistant, crèche worker or special educational needs assistant in a supporting role. The level 3 is suitable for you if work as a childminder, daycare supervisor, SureStart worker or a community nursery nurse. You may have may have some supervisory responsibilities. The level 4 is suitable for you if you work as a centre manager, senior practitioner, childminding co-ordinator or as a pre-school adviser. At this level you may have an overall responsibility of the services provided.
